Biography

Mr. Vokshori was recently a partner at Taylor & Vokshori, LLP, specializing in real estate, tax and civil litigation. He brings with him invaluable experience having worked in-house at a mortgage company, and a number of years in litigation and transactional law at large and small law firms.

Mr. Vokshori graduated Magna Cum Laude from USC’s Marshall School of Business and elected to attend the UCLA School of Law for his Juris Doctor. While in UCLA’s Business Law and Policy Program, he exhibited academic excellence in Real Estate, Corporate, and Finance law, and became a recipient of the Stephen E. Claman Scholarship.

Throughout his legal career, Mr. Vokshori has dedicated himself to providing top-quality legal service and advice to individuals fighting against corporate and state powers. He takes great pride in successfully resolving cases by using aggressive techniques acquired at some of the most distinguished Los Angeles law firms. In dealing with loss mitigation clients, Mr. Vokshori thoroughly audits loan documents and has found a variation of predatory lending, misleading disclosures, or RESPA, Truth-in-Lending, and GFE violations for nearly all of the clients that he has worked with. Negotiating with lenders under the auspice of these legal violations, he has been able to reduce principal balances to the fair market value of the property, stop foreclosure sales, and obtain affordable monthly payments for borrowers that have suffered economic hardship. Throughout the process, however, Mr. Vokshori understands that clients want to be kept apprised of their case and he makes time to personally meet with them and provide frequent status reports.

Mr. Vokshori understands the importance of community service and regularly does pro-bono work. He has volunteered with Public Counsel’s general relief advocacy program and argued to protect the rights of people in the welfare system who were homeless or at risk of becoming so. Mr. Vokshori has also provided free legal assistance to UCLA students through UCLA’s Student Legal Services program. There he counseled students on a wide variety of legal issues, including consumer debt issues, where he also negotiated on their behalf, as well as drafted letters and legal documents for students.

Currently, Mr. Vokshori spends his free time assisting low-income tenants fight against illegal evictions and unlawful detainer actions – a troubling corollary of the subprime mortgage foreclosure crisis.
